7 Easy Ways to Design Your Own T Shirt

Why make someone customize your shirt if you can make your very own shirt from start? The shirt will have more value than any other expensive piece of clothing that you already have in your closet. With your full intervention your shirt can look exactly the way you plan it. The following are ways and steps that you can implementto design your own t shirt.

1. Determine the Design
When determining the design it is important that you ask yourself what you the t-shirt will be best used for, to go to what events and for what time of the day. Once you have taken note of this, it will be easier to start creating the primary design of your t-shirt. Don’t hesitate to make as many sketches as possible, keep the elements that you like or throw out the designs that you feel are boring. Also keep in mind that the design will be used for the many years to come hence keep the design up to date.

2. Select the tone and theme
The tone should match the theme. If you are making a t-shirt in attempt to support a campaign, you will have to pay extra attention to the color that is used. Breast Cancer campaigns are mostly in pink whereas fighting against narcotics and drugs use a different color. If the t-shirt you are designing is for your personal purpose, avoid using too many colors at the same. A clear design usually makes the shirt more appealing than that of a thousand colors.

3. Add digital pictures or extract from social media
If you plan to design your own t shirt and add digital media, never settle for anything less than high definition pictures. The last thing you want is to print out a t-shirt with pictures in blurry lines. Avoid this by referring to online picture stocks that you can access for free. Be sure that you are not violating any copyrights.

4. Don’t over-think
When creating a design it is very common for someone to over think. The key is not to use up all the space of the t-shirt especially when your design is not of a pattern. This keeps the centre of the shirt the focal point. Avoid working on designs when you are not in the mood, tired, under stress or in fatigue. A clear head absorbs and digests better.

5. Ask friends for suggestions and second opinion
Of course asking for the opinion of a friend you can trust to say judge your work honestly is a good idea. Second opinions avoid you from making awkward t-shirt designs. A good friend will tell you if it is ready for printing or best re-made from scratch.

6. Digitalize your design
Now that the design is at hand, put them into a digital version, ready for printing.

 7. Prototype and produce
Like a store always holds a soft opening before they truly open for service, a prototype is important in ensuring that your t-shirt is ready for mass-production or for wearing in public. These are the steps to take if you wish to design your own t shirt!
